The second leg of the PAL Series, also known as the United Paintballers Philippines International Championship (2010) was held last weekend at the Stotsenberg Parade Ground in Clarkfield, Philippines.
It was a spectacular event, officiated by Mayor Morino Morales of Mabalacat, and attended by teams from countries all over the world, including USA, Australia, Iran, Japan, Singapore, and Malaysia. The locals had definitely gone all out with their trademark Filipino hospitality to ensure that the UPPIC 2010 was a world-class event.
First off, the field was fantastic, remaining solid and dry even after long, rainy nights. Teams were pampered, with 2-3 bedroom villas a mere stone’s throw away from the field, and within walking distance of the Pagcor casino, the London pub, and a fine-dining restaurant. Anything further was a mere phone call away – the Mimosa Leisure Estate provides a free buggy service for tenants.
The player’s party was held in the Pagcor Casino itself, and highlights included a “Double Your Money” stub for paintballers who felt like trying their luck, and the UPPIC 2010 Bikini Open, which was a definite hit with everyone male.
All in all, it was a fantastic experience, and players left with a smile on their faces. Teams should now be gearing up for the final leg of the PAL Series, the prestigious World Cup Asia 2010, which will be held on the 25-28 of November.
This year’s WCA is targeting 140 teams from 20 nations, If you haven’t pledged your teams yet, be sure to do so as there are limited spots left!
